Leaving DataYork, Thank you
By i4e6fh
Yesterday evening my first public speaking became a fact. Despite only a few people joined, I really enjoyed speaking.
Presenting for a small number of people is really nice if it is your first time in public. I must admit, I have spoken and presented in a lot of meetings in the company, but not really in public.
So it is time to go and to make some notes actionable.
Looking to myself how it went is not easy. Though, I can see it went quite smootly and the interaction was nice.
I found out that I need to do some improvements. My NUC (i7, 16gb) could run the two VM’s and a powerpoint during my preparation. When I opened ZOOM the Nuc tried to take off. That is not handy. I notice the same however when using Teams for presentation. It is not a huge problem, but it should be sorted out.
Another thing I did before I went online was updating those VM’s. Glad I did.. no pain there, but it is a frustration if the update ruins your presentation.
I do need to go through the video from yesterday evening to look at my behaviour and if i looked into the camera well enough, but I think that went quite well
Thank you Marci Gminski, Chris Williams and Graham Cook for having me.
Oslo
To continue the story, I just left York and I am heading back home. The next trip will be Oslo: #35 – OSLO – Data Saturday (datasaturdays.com) Maybe I will have an extra stop in between, who knows. Oslo is confirmed. So I plan to take the boat to Oslo.
